1st Knight Military Charity offers a mental health mentoring service for veterans.

What is mentoring?

Mentoring aims to provide support, which facilitates competence in self-management of a mental health difficulty or other chronic condition.

Mentors can help people to develop and maintain more realistic life styles, enhancing their ability to overcome barriers to success, and thereby providing them with a more equal chance of achieving personal goals and a happy and successful life.

They can provide support with goal-setting and managing self-imposed expectations about levels of success.

Mentors can also help people come to terms with their diagnosis and any medication they have been prescribed in relation to the impact it may have on their lives.
